Lionel 'Cub' Woodward
"This calls for a particularly subtle blend of psychology
and... extreme violence."
Yes, I'm
Lionel Jason Woodward
But Everyone Calls Me
'Cub'
My Birth Certificate Will Tell You I'm
36
And, Yes, I'm
Male
I'm
Bi and proud,
Slaving For
Twilight's Rain
if you look in the mirror;;
At 36, Lionel still isn't worried about his age. Why would he be? Unlike (most) people who have mid-life crises, he's still ten or fifteen years from that, has a job that many would kill for, and has no children or love interests. And, speaking of his job, perhaps that point could be elaborrated on.
Cub is a gadgets designer for Twillight's Rain.. and a rather well-educated one, at that. He's seldom found without some piece of gadtretry in his hand, and is almost never seen out of the shop... Well, unless there's some parts he doesn't trust anyone to get for him. Work takes precedent over many, many things in Cub's life, and he likes it that way. Playing with gadgets all day is much his favourite part of life, and he's good at it. He's inventred quite afew things in his time; flexable LCD screens, metamorphosing cell-phones... Oh, and of course, the money. His predecessor was a brilliant inventor, but, in Cub's opinion, didn't really grasp the finer points of exploding cash. After all, who wants money that explodes in your pocket?
Cub's a very quiet personality most of the time; he prefers the humming of machines to vocal chords, and works hard at everything he does. Diligent would be the best word to describe him, really. If he doesn't like you, he'll listen, but you might notice you're not really distracting him and don't have his full attention. If he does trust you, and counts you as a friend, you'll find him very chatty... but you'll just have to wait until he finishes this last touch up, I promise you, before you'll have his complete and undivided attention.
He's the kind of guy who uses cliches and euphemisms compulsively, so don't expect great wonders of oral finesse. He expresses himself through these pretty clearly, even when he's trying to be obscure.
Patience, loyalty, optimism, and a sincere desire to help people are some of his most commonly acknowledged traits. But on the other hand, he can be snappish, blunt, and distrustful of those he doesn't know. He often doesn't know how to get the words out to say what he wants to (which is sometimes a good thing), but when he does... ooh, you'll find the house just about coming down around your ears!
New members of Twilight's, and previous members of the Government, I'm afraid I'll have to warn you now. He will never warm to you. Sure, you'll get a passing smile in the hallways, and the occasional dirty joke... But Cub will never completely trust you the way he does with his friends in Twilight's.
- Peace-maker
- Optimistic
- Loyal
- Friendly, if a little shy
- Diligent, hard worker
- Patient
- Takes everything (Ok, most things) seriously.
- Slow to anger...
- Shy
- ... But will get snappy easily.
- Often doesn't know what to say
- Shyness makes him distrustful, and he seldom likes new members of Twilight's.
and don't like what you see;;
Cub's not the kind of guy to stand out in a crowd. His face is just like many other Britains, and in a way, that's good. It's a face people have seen many times on TV, and that they feel they can trust. His eyes are warm and brown, and his face just so homely that it's hard to discipline the thought processes.
Take it from Cub's perspective though, and it's a little irritating. Spend all day trying to fix a re-wire the core processor of a hard-drive with some rookie breathing down your neck, and you'll know what I'm talking about.
To aleviate these minor distractions, Lionel has gone and cut his hair short. 'Buzz cut', right? Something like that. It never gets in his eyes, is easy to care for, and he won't have to bother about dying out the greys later on. The cut seems to have mostly removed the heart-to-hearts from his life, but it can't completely remove the warm, open, kind contours of his face.
Lionel goes in for a loose, friendly set o' rags. His clothes are, usually, an inconspicuous shade of grey; anything from off-white to coal coloured. Usually, it's a t-shirt to stop the sleeves getting in the way, usually with some fifteen-year-old band concert print on it. His trousers are loose-fitting, like the t-shirt, and have more pockets than you can shake a stick at; very convenient for carrying around the aforementioned pieces of electricals. And believe me, those pockets can keep anything. Some of them are even lined in rubber to stop loose wires from sneaking through.
Hankerchiefs, headphones, flash-drives, microdots, cellphones... Just the usual objects. Oh, and there's probably a lighter somewhere, and a coil of copper wire, maybe his wallet...
