Felix slumped down on a bench. He didn't have any assignments today and he was a bit bored. His parents were at work and his sister and brother were at school. The sun bore down on his neck. Jeez, it sure got hot here somedays. Jumping off the seat, he looked around. "I'm not gonna sit around on possibly my only day off.." He muttered under his breath. He then started walking towards the shops, not really paying attention to where he was going. Suddenly, he bumped into a girl. "Whoops! Sorry! I'm so sorry!" He gasped as he knelt down and began to pick up the thigns that he'd made her drop. "Wasn't looking where I was going. Again, sorry!" He stood up and handed her back her things. Felix rubbed at the back of his neck and smiled sheepishly.

Alice giggled. "Don't worry. It's my fault as well as yours. I wasn't looking where I was going, either." She smiled as he handed her things back. "Thanks." She couldn't stop gazing at his scars. The one on his chest looked really bad. Alice wondered how he had got them. She flicked her gaze towards the ground, not wanting to be rude by staring. She wanted to ask him what had happened but didn't want him to think that she was being nosy. Right now, she wished she had the ability to start a conversation. It's always awkward just standing there. She blushed. "I better get going..." She murmured, going to walk around Felix.

"Hey, hey!" He chuckled, stepping infront of Alice. "Going anywhere in a hurry? Maybe we could go to a cafe or something, grab a bite of lunch and maybe get talking?" Felix smiled crookedly. "Oh, by the way, I'm Felix Talon." He touched the scar on his chest absentmindedly. It's kinda become a habit of his. He folded his arms behind his back and rocked on the heels of his feat. "Come on, say yes! Agree. Please?" He took in her looks. "Isn't she that cop? Jeez, she's kinda become famous around here. Does alot of cases and almost always finishes the job. Well, except on the battles between us and Twilight's. There may be evidence, but someone always goes and clears it away." He shook his head slightly. "Poor people. A family member's been killed and they don't even know about. Their brother, or their sister, or one of their parents, been missing for a long time. Someone stubles across a crimescene, calls the police. Police come, get evidence and what not, disappear and then the body disappears. I hate my line of work."

"Alice Jay." She smiled and then nodded. "Yeah. It's the end of my shift, now and I haven't got anything planned. What cafe do you want to go to? I'm not picky." Alice noted him touch his scar. She wondered if it hurt him. She knew a few colluges at work who had been shot or something and left with a scar. They say that the scar usually pains them still. She even knew a guy who had to have his leg amuptated. He felt phantom pain. She bit her lip. She'd hate it if she had anything like that. Then again, she supposed you'd get used to the pain being there all the time.. "Maybe he'll get into telling me how he got that scar.... She thought. That would probably make an interesting story. Then again, you think something's interesting, yet when someone goes on to explaining it to you, the story ends up as boring as hell.

He almost fell over. He didn't actually think that Alice would say yes. "Nice name," he smiled. "Let me guess... Your middle name's Blue?" Chuckling, he started leading the way to one of his favourite cafes. "I think we should eat at the Lupee cafe. Nice place, that. Aren't you that famous cop? I'm pretty sure that I've seen your pictures in the newspaper and possibly even a few magazines.." His golden eyes twinkled mischeviously. Maybe talking with a cop could be to his benifit. If she was as smart as the papers hinted, maybe she'd get the hints that he'd try to drop. But then again, dropping hints wouldn't help. The Government was always watching. Felix sighed. Great. He needed to alert someone about the buisness between the Government and Twilight's. He'd seen pictures of people from Twiligt's Rain... Maybe he could find one of them. He's sure that they'd have a safe room to talk, so that no one would be able to listen in. The only thing is, he'd have to find one first. They obviously had something on that girl, Gemma FireStone. And hey, what do you know, maybe Twilight's has sent someone to infiltrate the Government. Well, if they had, "the source" certinaly didn't know about it.

The Luppe. she'd heard of that place, and that you needed reservations. She wondered if Felix was talking about some other place. "I'm not really famous. I just get called into most of the cases and the media recognize my face." She shrugged. "But I have to admit, there've been more cases lately that we can't solve...." She chewed her lip. The boss had told them not to say anything about the dissapperaing bodies, but then all her colluges hadn't exactly obeyed by that rule. They'd pretty much just gone around telling strangers on the street. Then again, Alice wasn't like her workmates. "The bodies and all this have been... well, they've been disappearing. I mean, we go there and swabb for evidence and all that, go away and find there's nothing on what we've swabbed, go back to the scene and everything's been cleaned up. It's like there was no murder or anything." She frowned, remembering something about the spies some people have been going on about. The boss even seemed to take that seriously. But come on, spies? "There've been a whole heap of people mentioning something about some spies... And they say that the Government's involved in all of the dissappering bodies. But, really. Spies and the Government?"

Felix pulled a face. "I work for the Government. Jeez, our boss acts weird. Wouldn't be surprised if he was actually involved in those disappearing bodies. And let me tell you, I'm edging towards believing that spy thing, too. Seen a couple, I'd think. If I had to choose, I'd say that the spies are the good guys and that the Government's the bad guys. Of course, I'm not bad. I hate my line of work." He chuckled. If only he could tell the half of it. "If I actually told anyone about it that didn't actually know, I'd bet that they'd either think I'm nuts or that I'm one of those loonies." They'd arrived at the Luppe Cafe. Yes, you needed reservations, but Felix always had a table here. Part of being a member of the Government. He held the door open and allowed Alice to go in first. The man at the wating desk looked up. "Reservations?" Felix nodded. "Felix Talon. I'll be under as a member of the Government." The waiter nodded. "Indeed you are, sir. Table for two, is it?" He asked, glancing at Alice. "Please."

Alice looked around in wonder. She'd only been here once, but even then it was chasing some loony with a gun. the place was large, two floors and a large balcony. The man led them up to the second floor and showed them outside. "The waiter will be with you shortly to take your orders," He said, giving them a menu each. He then turned and left. "This place is more like a restaruant more than a cafe," She said. She looked at the menu, going to choose the cheapest thing on there. She decided on a rum and coke for her drink and a plate of pasta. Alice looked down over the rail. There were no shops behind them, so it was a clear view to the sea. She grinned. "That's so awesome," She said, nodding towards three dolphins who were hanging around a boat. They were flipping out of the water and swimming around with some of the passengers game enough to jump in the water with them.

He grinned. "Restaruant, cafe... Same thing." He chuckled and scratched his cheek. "So, you want me to start, you know, introducing myself more...?" Felix toyed with his necklace and his brow furrowed in concerntration. "Allright, I'll start with the most interesting thing. My scars. No doubt you'll be wondering about them." Smiling crookedly, he let the shark tooth flop back down to his neck. "These three on my cheek..." He laughed deeply. "I was very lucky there. Got in a fight..." He wondered if he should tell Alice the truth. It wouldn't hurt... If he didn't mention Twilight's Rain and the Government. "Anyway, I was in a fight, the other side was playing dirty. Pulled out a gun and shot at me. They have good aim... I had good training. Saw the gun and began to run away. Five shots were fired, but only three struck me. The bullets grazed my cheek," He indicated the three scars. "Went deep, too. It tookl ages for the wounds to heal. Anyway, as you can see, I survived that. Now this one..." He rubbed his left shoulder where the scar crossed over from his back to his chest. "Hrm..." A glazed look came over his eyes and he peered down at the table, remembering. After a few mintues, he sighed. "Would you believe it, my friend turned on me. The reason... I'd rather not talk about that..." Felix rubbed the large scar. "He managed to get his hands on a sword. Tried to slice and dice me. The scar's deeper than it actually looks. Anyway, my friend lunged at me, aiming for my heart. Hit it's mark too, 'cept it stopped a few milimeters away from my heart, another lucky break. He would've driven it in deeper, but I rolled away. That's how it made the long scar. Rolled away, he tried to drive it in deeper yet it stayed the same level. Jeez, was it painful! The damn scar's this deep," he held up his thumb and index finger. They were about three inches apart. He started laughing lightly, tears rolling down his cheeks.

Alice gasped. That was horrible! And to have your friend do it... Felix's tears were of sadness, not because he was laughing... "That's terrible..." She whispered and took his hand. "He didn't really need to tell me all of that... She thought. "Why'd you tell me? I mean, I'm a stranger you just met. And if it hurts you remembering..." She felt a sadness in her heart. "That's just terrible... horrible... I don't know what I'd do if one of my friends turned on me. A light wind picked up and ruffled her hair, and then it died down again just as quickly as it had picked up. Alice's hazel eyes glistend slightly and she felt tears welling in her eyes. Heaving a deep sigh, she looked out at the water. The dolphins had disappeared and the people were beginning to get back in the boat.

He chuckled and wiped his cheeks with one hand, the other grasped Alice's hand. "I needed to tell someone. To get it off my chest. Actually, only my brother knows about it. I can't tell anyone else.. not even my mother." Felix glanced down at the table. "I'm not sure I should have even told you... But I needed to tell someone.." He chewed at his lip. He gave too much away, maybe. He hoped that the Government... He quickly shook the though out of his head. "Well, let's move on to more.. happy things. Tell me about you?" At that moment, the waiter walked over. "May I take your orders?" He asked in a cheery voice and a false smile on his face. "Err.. I'll take a whisky and a slice of the chiken pizza with chips, please." Felix handed the man his menu. "And you, Miss?" The waiter asked, turning to Alice and jotting down something in his notebook.

"I'll have a rum and coke and the pasta please," Alice said, handing the waiter her menu. He left and she turned back to Felix. "Well, I didn't know my parents well. They died in a plane crash.. My uncle, Bernard, he looked after me. He's really nice. I joined the police force about... thirteen years ago? And yeah, I love working there. Some of the cases I'm sent on are amazing. There was this one case, some guy was trying to break into a jewlery shop. A pile of bricks were sitting near-by, so he grabbed one and chucked it at the window. Turns out the window was made of phlexsiglass so the brick bounced back and hit him on the head. The whole thing was caught on camera!" She chuckled. "I suppose when you think about it, it's not really that funny..." She traced his hand with the tip of a finger. Her eyes flickered up to the large scar across his chest but she quickly avoided her gaze, not wanting to upset him again. A waiter arrived with their drinks and she took a sip of hers. "Yeah, nothing much really has happened in my life," She grinned.

"Hrm..." Felix took a swig of his drink. "Better than my life, I suppose.. Let's see... I was kinda forced into joining the Governement. I absolutely hate it there, but hopefully I'll be out of that soon. I'm pretty sure my parents aren't my real parents. That I'm adopted or something. No memory of when I was a kid... Actually, I've drawn a blank there. Pretty sure the Government have brainwashed me," He chuckled, trying to make it sound like a joke. "Well, most of the studd I do for the Government is confidentail... Though, there's loop holes and all that that I've found." Hs shrugged, pulled his hand back, and took another swig from his whiskey. "Oh, and I'm the oldest of the family. Sister's a little pest and my brother's fairly understanding. Then again, he's nineteen and she's eight..."

Alice frowned and pondered at what Felix had said. "Why do you think you're adopted? And, like, how and why were you forced into being a Government member?" She asked. "And why can't you remember anything from when you were young? The Government brainwashing you?" She wanted to ask that, but she thought it may be a bit rude, and she suspected Felix wounldn't have an answer to that. Taking a sip of her drink, Alice turned to look out at the sea again. The sun glared down at them from a cloudless sky and there were a few kids playing down at the beach. She grabbed hold of her choker and twirled the wolf head around, musing with the things that Felix had said before.. She placed her arms on the table and rested her head in her hands.

Another waiter appeared, this time. He liad the pizza down infront of Felix and the pasta infront of Alice. Felix thanked him and took a bite of a chip. "Well, my "parents" are young. They'd have to have been ten or so when they had me, so that's a factor. Also, I look nothing like them. And I was forced into becoming a Government member..." He coughed and took a sip of his drink. "That's a good question that needs a good lie..." He shrugged. "Actually, I can't remember. Think it was to do with the money or something..." Shrugging again, he took a bite out of his pizza. "You know, the best part about being a member of the Government is that you can come to places like this whenever you want." Felix chuckled and then followed Alice's gaze out towards the beach.
